About the Artist
Hello and welcome,
I’m Joe Bertucci, an artist from New Orleans. I began painting in 2022, and I’ve been learning my way forward ever since. Working primarily in oils, I’m especially drawn to sacred art and portraiture: paintings that capture beauty and meaning as I find them, and invite others to pause, look closely, and connect.
My first oil painting was selected from more than 600 entries for the 24th New Orleans Art Association National Juried Art Show. The following year, my next painting received an award in the 25th show. In 2025, I completed Behold, I Make All Things New, an eight-foot commission for St. Jude Mission Chapel in New Iberia, where it now hangs permanently. It was only my sixth finished painting, and I’m deeply grateful for the trust behind it.
Choosing art has been among the more daring and challenging leaps of my life. When you purchase a print, you bring a piece of this work into your home and help give me the time and materials to make the next painting. If something I’ve made speaks to you, I’d be honored to share it with you. Thank you for helping me keep going.
